Types of Liquid Inkjet Printer
Inkjet printers are of two types based on the print head used.
i) Fixed Head type- It has a built-in printer head with equal lifespan as that of the printer.
ii) Disposable Head type- Printers of this type are costlier in maintenance. It has a disposable head which has to be replaced each time you have to replace the ink cartridge.

• Makes less noise than dot matrix printers
• Better quality prints of photos as well as text documents.
• Printing of text and images are faster in inkjet printers as they do not require warm up time.
• Ensures cost effectiveness with the latest models allowing you to buy ink cartridges by colour, so that you will have to replace only the empty cartridge and continue using the rest.
• Cheaper refillable cartridges are also available in the market. Inks for this refilling cartridge are available in stationery shops.
Demerits of a Liquid Inkjet printer
• Nozzles of inkjet printers, which are very fine, may be subject to clogging. Cleaning facility is provided, but this process consumes a considerable amount of ink.
• Inks used in this type of printers are water soluble. This might lead to smear, splotch or spoiling of the print with just a small drop of water.
